Animals, LookBook (part 1), and Foodstuff

Lots of photos today! I'd like to put more photos in journal entries once in a while (or, more often, I mean).

I had a lovely day full of hunting down sheet music for piano and violin. I found so much geekery! Mario, Korra, Game of Thrones, Cowboy Bebop... it's gonna be awesome when I finally learn more notes (I'm up to 3 fingers on the violin now, that's ten notes, though I'm focusing on the first 8 - my teacher gave me the extra two because our lessons are stopped for a month while she is traveling).

Also finally got caught up on pen-pals (now parcels are another story) at the cafe - got to sit outside! That's a rare opportunity, but a smoking table opened up and I shared a blood orange muffin with a cute little bird while I wrote.

This is my sister's pug Jeffrey (named after the Bill Cosby standup routine). When my mom came to my table at the last sale I did, she saw the tiny hats I made and said they'd be perfect for Jeffrey. So I made one out of a dented hat I had leftover.

This is my little date from this afternoon. Such a cutie pie!

And my favourite human- my best friend Ron. Cute, isn't he ;)

Since pax_athena made one, I've decided to FINALLY make look-book posts. I'm going to do a month of them, but I want to post them weekly. My one concern is not having enough outfits to rock it.

First outfit was on a hot day. I almost never wear shorts in public, but I decided to wear them to work today since I was walking home on a very hot day.

Layers - that's my new favourite sweater. It looks like it bursts at the buttons, but it's not tight.

A nice black top, not looking very nice on my hungover self.

Jeans and a tshirt - ultimate comfort. That's my Runner 5 shirt - Zombies Run merch :)

My forever wrinkled skirt (that is actually a dress). Seriously, if you pinch it for a second, a new wrinkle appears. But I love it.

Decided to dress cute in my Valentine's Day lolita skirt that I made (from a BtSSB pattern), for my violin lesson.

And today's outfit. I don't think I like this shirt anymore...

Now for my delicious, perfect dinner. For the past couple of weeks, I'd strayed from my diet and exercise routine (mostly paleo, with weight-training) due to my brief depressive state which I've already written about. I'm trying to get back on track - I still walk every day, but haven't touched my weights and just yesterday downed a bag of gummy worms. So... today I'm trying to fix myself.

This is my favourite quick dinner. Takes about a half-hour to make, and is super delicious and healthy. I got the recipe from Nerd Fitness.

So this is how I make it: Slap a chicken breast on a cutting board and cut it into bits. Put the bits on a foil-covered baking sheet. Douse the bits in soy sauce (or coconut aminos if you want to keep it totally paleo). Pepper or spice it up (I just do ground pepper, sometimes with a dash of lemon-pepper). Flip the bits (the sauce will usually be able to make it to the other side without having to re-douse, but run it through the excess sauce if you need to). Spice up that side, too. Throw it in the oven at "Broil" (which I think is 425*F for 20 minutes. No need to preheat. When it's done, cut up the thickest piece to make sure the insides aren't pink.

Salad it up, and you've got this (I'm a little sparse on ingredients for my salad - just mushrooms, olives, and avocado for now, but I usually also have tomatoes and radish):

And the fortune from my last trip to a Chinese restaurant:

The look-book posts are a great idea! I might have to do this myself.

Your violin lesson outfit is my favourite, that skirt is adorable.

Thanks!! I made the skirt with a detachable bow for the back, but I forgot to put it on.

Mmm that salad looks great! The fortune is oddly depressing though... (Unless you add "...in bed." :P )

My first thought was, "Oh, I guess that contract on my soul has come to maturation!"

Thanks! I love making skirts (because those and big hair bows are the only things I know how to make well, hahaha). Oddly, I rescued the shoes out of a dumpster.

This is a much easier approach to chicken than I usually try for (pan fry, which is good, but sometimes a huge mess and needs constant supervision). I need to remember this!

Hehe, yay for the lookbook! So glad you also made one! I have a forever wrinkled skirt, too! Actually the one I have on right now. But it's such a nice, thin material. I love it when it's so hot outside.
And jeans + t-shirt is perfect looking comfort. This is actually my "uniform" in spring and fall.

Also, I'm forever envious of people who can make their own clothes. Such a cute skirt!

It's so chilly today, I was able to put on a winter skirt! I'm going to make more skirts soon (maybe this weekend).
