Two Weeks Ahead & Look Book 2

Alice - Dollhouse
My arm is all better now! The pills kicked in that day I last posted, and the pain subsided long enough for me to throw my arm back and get a good pop out of it, which made it feel intensely better, and hasn't hurt since! My violin playing was a little bit wobbly, but I noticed absolutely no pain whatsoever during my time at the Park Ave fest (which was a nice walk with Ron and his friends).

Immediate plans this week: continue my Stuff Purge (went through my shoes and purses last night), meet with people who are buying my things, make buttons for a new client, maybe go to Yoga On The Lawn, and then go down to Boston Comic Con with pax_athena!!!

Next week, I'm going to join the Nerd Fitness Academy, start learning how to make a good Wordpress site for a new client, see Ack at the Bug Jar, see the Presidents of the United States of America (remember them?), and attend Ron's traditional OCHO picnic.
Thinking of fucking off the rest of August after that and just relaxing with small projects.

And finally, I have enough different outfits to warrant another week's worth of Look Book'ing. I need to make more skirts.

I made this skirt and the slip for an Alice (the Madness Returns) costume (see icon) and it is my favourite skirt that I've made so far. I hand-dyed the plaid fabric, because I couldn't find any plaid in the colour I needed.
Also, the Dr. Martens were my gift to myself for my birthday 2 years back in Toronto!

Classic black shirt with jeans

Ack! My friend's band tshirt - fit like a dream the first night. Then I washed it :p

First skirt I've made in a long time - I meant to make bloomers out of this material, but that didn't end up happening.

My Evolution shirt, which I sought out when I went to NYC last year for my birthday. The shop's in a little side-street in SoHo (bought because of the gorgeous gracelizard (who seems only to be here now)

This is actually my laundry-day work outfit. I love the top, but some of the buttons have popped off (damn my enormous jumblies), and it doesn't flatter my arms in any way.

And my outfit at work right now... which I should be leaving. See ya!

How did you dye the material in a pattern like that? Just curious ...

One of the pics isn't showing for me ... :-(

Oh gosh, no- I didn't dye it in the pattern (though I DID consider how I would be able to bleach out my own plaid pattern while searching for fabric, and then I found this stuff). The plaid fabric was originally black and white, and I just RIT-dyed it in the tub.
WHICH PIC ISN'T SHOWING??? I've checked 3 computers and they're all showing for me :(

They're showing all now here at work ... maybe my computer at home was wonky!

YEEEESSS! The coming weekend!

The docs are amazing! (How does it happen that Toronto is the source of so many great things?!)
I so love docs, but I can't wear them. They have a new lines with Hieronymus Bosch's "Hell". They are SO amazing. But not for my feet :(

Breaking in Docs are SO PAINFUL! However!! These ones started out as soft leather, and they don't hurt my feet at all! Also, the person who sold them to me said that there is a leather-softening ointment for the hard docs.
(and YESSSS!!! I will respond to your email tomorrow morning!)
