Late Halloween

I had 3 costumes this year and took Halloween off to start reading the Night Vale novel and hand out candy. 1 & 1/2 were repeats. 1 was a full repeat (though I had to re-make a part of it), and one was a repeat but with totally different colours. And the other was lazy.

For the Museum of the Dead party at the Memorial Art Gallery, Meagan and I attended as Princess Mononoke (my repeat from 2013), and John Constantine.

On Friday, I decided to get up early to do a little costume for work. This is my Werewolf Stu (from What We Do In The Shadows). Stu was the IT guy in WWDITS, and I work IT, too. Plus, it wasn't a full moon.

Werewolf Not Swearwolf

And then Friday night, I went to a costume party at my friend Jackie's house as La Catrina (Day of the Dead). I won best costume and ate so much delicious junk food. This is my same-but-different costume from about 3 or so years ago, only my corset was red, and I had a matching bustle. Sadly, I can't fit into that corset anymore, so I used this one. There were two broken bones in this corset that had caused injury by the end of the night. OUCH.

On Halloween, I decided to chill in comfy clothes, watch movies, and eat half the candy in the candy bowl.

LOVE the mononoke costume - did you actually make the mask yourself? so epic.

Yep! Papier Machet and paint! It's the one part that I had to remake from the last time I wore the costume - I used an experimental "paper clay" that was NOT as advertised, and it never dried properly (the rain also didn't help), so it began to fall apart throughout the night. This one stood strong the whole night :)

I have to rebone the corset. There are two that snapped - one I forgot about from a different evening, and one from that night. I also have to drop a stone or two. I'm sure that'll help it fit better ;)
