So I have this Spirit store liquid latex. It's a huge bottle, and I never cracked it open (I bought it last year). I grabbed an old paint brush and attempted to give myself no-mouth syndrome, but the latex behaved awfully. On the plus side, it dries fast, but that's not always a good thing. It dried way too fast, and caused it to gunk up in thick strokes. I'd hoped for smooth layers, however, this is not the end of the world! I kept going, and eventually realized this shitty latex is PERFECT for making sinewy zombie under-skin flesh. I'll have to do this intentionally sometime.

When it'd been built up proficiently, I decided it needed teeth, so I took my too-thick fake nails and cut them into shape. I had to scratch the underside to get the latex to stick, but they're on there now.

The mistake is in the teeth. Since I was going for no-mouth, I built it up around the natural curves the lips make, which made the teeth on the contour not really work well. Oh well.

I cut a hole between the teeth when I was ready to take it off, just to see (fail). Powdered the back, and now I've got a prosthetic for future use! The no-mouth look would have also become something that'd go well with this prosthetic, but I need to find the right latex for the job.

Thanks! You can totally do what I do! Give it a shot! This all came from building on a mistake. Gore is probably the easiest thing in the world to do, because the messier, the better ;)
